Red Sox Reach Notable Franchise Milestone With Blowout Win
The Boston Red Sox won their 10,000th baseball game against the Washington Nationals on Saturday.
Cool…
It’s a milestone that ultimately means nothing, but if you are interested in such things, Boston joins the San Francisco Giants (11,588), Los Angeles Dodgers (11,488), Chicago Cubs (11,380), St. Louis Cardinals (11,333), Atlanta Braves (11,153), Cincinnati Reds (10,980), Pittsburgh Pirates (10,877), New York Yankees (10,828) and Philadelphia Phillies (10,259) as the only teams to reach the milestone, as of this publication.
Sweet!
The Red Sox’s milestone victory came with relative ease, as franchise legends such as Romy Gonzalez, Nate Eaton and Jorge Alcala all contributed to the 10-3 verdict at Nationals Park.
I bet you’ll never forget where you were on the momentous occasion.
(I’ll stop being overly facetious. It’s actually a pretty cool milestone.)
