Jermain Defoe names two worst trainers from his time at Tottenham, including 46-goal hero
Jermain Defoe has now lifted the lid on Tottenham training days with Dimitar Berbatov – and his brutal verdict might surprise some.
Back in March, Dimitar Berbatov featured for Tottenham Hotspur legends in their clash against AC Milan Glorie, a game that ended 6-2.
The Bulgarian international shared a pitch with some familiar names, including Robbie Keane, Aaron Lennon, Jermain Defoe, Michael Dawson and Ledley King.
Defoe, however, has now opened up on what Berbatov was like in training during their time together at Tottenham.

Speaking to Open Goal, the former Tottenham forward discussed what Dimitar Berbatov was like behind the scenes at the club.
According to Jermain Defoe, Berbatov, alongside Pascal Chimbonda, was notorious for putting in minimal effort during training sessions at Tottenham.
Berbatov, who cost Spurs £11m after his move from Bayer Leverkusen back in 2006, had already gained a reputation for being laid-back on the pitch, and as Defoe explained, it was exactly the same in training.
“Would he try in training?” Defoe was asked when speaking about Berbatov.
“No, him and Pascal Chimbonda, they were the worst trainers ever, Berba and Chimbonda, those two were the worst trainers, they would just chill, they would just chill,” Defoe replied.

Regardless, Berbatov still cherished his time at Tottenham, as he revealed to Spurs Web earlier this year.
The Bulgarian was part of the last Tottenham side to lift silverware, netting from the spot in the 2008 Carling Cup Final, where Spurs beat Chelsea 2-1 at Wembley.

However, his time at Tottenham was brief. After just two seasons in North London, he was sold to Premier League rivals Manchester United in 2008.
Still, Berbatov went on to shine at Old Trafford – winning two Premier League titles, a Golden Boot, a League Cup, and reaching two Champions League finals with Manchester United, despite being lazy in training.
