Report Orkun Kokcu in positive talks with Roma
There are reports Roma are in negotiations with Benfica midfielder and Turkey international Orkun Kokcu.
The Giallorossi are revamping their squad following the arrival of new coach Gian Piero Gasperini and director of sport Frederic Massara.
The latest player to be linked with them this summer is Orkun Kokcu, a 24-year-old midfielder who has been at Benfica since his €29.7m transfer from Feyenoord in 2023.
Orkun Kokcu not new to Roma interest
Although he elected to play his international football for Turkey, he was born and raised in the Netherlands and played for the Dutch side up to Under-19 level.
He was participating in the FIFA Club World Cup, where he contributed two assists in four games, but was unable to prevent Benfica’s elimination in extra time of the Round of 16 to Chelsea.
According to the Jouers Turcs account in France, Kokcu is eager to move on from Benfica and is currently in negotiations with Roma over personal terms.
Both Roma and Atalanta had already been linked with the player back in 2020, when he was at Feyenoord.
