Tottenham tipped to make ‘respected’ off-field hire that others will be jealous of
Graeme Bailey has revealed what Daniel Levy has done amidst widespread interest in Fabio Paratici from the Premier League and abroad, and the journalist has also shed light on Tottenham’s chances of appointing the Italian in a formal role.
Fabio Paratici continues to work as a consultant for Tottenham Hotspur but with his FIFA ban expiring in less than a month, it remains to be seen what his next step will be.
Some sources have claimed that it is only a matter of time before Paratici returns to Tottenham in an official role, but not everyone agrees.
It was revealed by Alasdair Gold two weeks ago that Paratici might continue as a consultant for Spurs for the time being as Juventus’ capital gains trial is still ongoing in Italy.
Daniel Levy has fought to get Fabio Paratici back to Tottenham
However, Graeme Bailey has now explained that Levy shares a very close relationship with Paratici, insisting that there is no one in the game that the Tottenham chairman trusts more than the Italian.
Bailey has revealed that Levy has already fought off competition from Premier League rivals as well as from Serie A clubs and Saudi Pro League sides for Paratici’s services this summer, with the journalist confident that the 52-year-old will return to Tottenham in an official role.
He told TBR Football: “Paratici is Daniel Levy’s closest confidant in football, there is nobody he trusts more. He is already actively involved this summer, and that will continue beyond. But clearly, an agreement on a permanent new deal can and will be done after the transfer window.
“Spurs will need to do it, he is hugely respected in football. Paratici had interest from the Saudi Pro League, Italy and England. Daniel fought for him in the summer when AC Milan came calling for Paratici and he does not want to lose him now.”
What will become of Johan Lange if Fabio Paratici returns to Spurs?
Following the appointment of Vinai Venkatesham as the new CEO, reports indicate that Tottenham’s chief football officer Scott Munn has been placed on gardening leave.
One would imagine that Paratici will oversee the recruitment decisions if he returns to Spurs in an official capacity, which may raise question marks over the future of the club’s technical director, Johan Lange.
However, the Dane continues to be heavily involved in Tottenham’s summer deals, with reports indicating that Lange has an excellent relationship with Thomas Frank.
