How Many Teams Reportedly Interested In Celtics’ Kristaps Porzingis?!

Kristaps Porzingis reportedly is attracting plenty of interest, and from some of the league’s heaviest hitters.

According to Clutch Points’ Brett Siegel, the Boston Celtics have heard from 10-12 teams all of whom have expressed interest in the 29-year-old big man. It’s unknown how the levels of interest might vary among them, however.

“As he enters the final year of his contract, Porzingis has drawn interest from several teams in both conferences,” Siegel wrote after Boston traded veteran guard Jrue Holiday on Monday night.

Siegel reported trading Porzingis is the “next order of business” for the Green.

“The Pelicans, Golden State Warriors, Los Angeles Lakers, Atlanta Hawks, and Toronto Raptors are a few of the 10-12 teams that have been in contact with the Celtics recently,” Siegel wrote, citing sources.

One team Siegel didn’t mention is the San Antonio Spurs. The Spurs have had exploratory talks regarding Porzingis, according to fellow NBA insider Jake Fischer.

Celtics president of basketball operations Brad Stevens made his first move of the offseason when he traded Holiday to Portland for Anfernee Simons and two second-round picks. It feels like an early win for the C’s given the 35-year-old Holiday has $104.4 million owed to him the next three seasons.

Most people around the league, however, believe that move is only the beginning as the Green try to shed salary this offseason.
