Luka Vuskovic just did something very impressive weeks before Tottenham arrival

Tottenham fans have even more reason to be excited about Luka Vuskovic’s arrival this summer as the teenage defender just achieved a major career milestone ahead of arriving at Hotspur Way.

Spurs signed the centre-back from Hajduk Split nearly two years ago but he will only link up with the Tottenham squad for the first time this summer after turning 18 years of age.

The Croat has had loan spells with Polish club Radomiak Radom and Belgian side Westerlo, particularly rising to prominence with his showing in the latter in the season just passed.

Luka Vuskovic is excited about training alongside some top-class players at Tottenham and the young defender is confident that he is ready for the challenge.

Vuskovic just made his debut for Croatia’s senior team

Vuskvoic earned his first senior call-up to the Croatia squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Gibraltar and the Czech Republic.

Many would have assumed that Zlatko Dalic merely called the teenager up to take a closer look at him in training as Vuskovic rubbed shoulders with the nation’s biggest stars.

However, to people’s surprise, Vuskovic actually made it onto the pitch in Croatia’s 5-1 win over the Czechs on Tuesday, coming on as a substitute in the 88th minute.

While the Tottenham man only got a few minutes under his belt, it is undoubtedly a huge honour to win his first cap for his country at such a young age, and it will only serve to boost his confidence ahead of his move to Hotspur Way.

What Tottenham think of Luka Vuskovic’s development

The centre-back faces an uphill task to get minutes at Tottenham next season, given the quality of defenders that the Lilywhites have at their disposal.

However, it was revealed by journalist Ben Jacobs recently that the Spurs decision-makers have been very impressed with Vuskovic’s development at Westerlo.

He suggested that they might consider loaning the defender out again, this time to the Bundesliga so that he can continue getting competitive minutes under his belt.
