As Tottenham Hotspur seemingly push for a deal for Thomas Frank, it has emerged that the Lilywhites would have to spend a handsome fee to get him out of Brentford.
According to reports, Daniel Levy has already held multiple meetings with Thomas Frank over the Tottenham vacancy, with the Dane now the clear frontrunner to replace Ange Postecoglou.
In fact, it has been revealed by Fabrizio Romano that Spurs are optimistic about swiftly concluding a deal for Frank following their conversations with the 51-year-old.
It has been reported that Brentford will not stand in Frank’s way if he wants the Tottenham job, but it has now emerged that the Lilywhites will have to pay handsomely for his services.
Frank has a big release clause in his Brentford contract
The Danish coach has done an excellent job since arriving at the Gtech Community Stadium seven years ago, getting them promoted to the top flight and helping establish them as a Premier League force.
However, Frank still has two years left on his contract at Brentford, and The Guardian claim that Spurs will have to meet his release clause to bring him through the door.
It is revealed that the Tottenham managerial target’s clause release stands at £10m and the Bees will only let him go if that is activated, thus leaving the Lilywhites with a big decision.

Why Tottenham admire Thomas Frank so much
According to reports, Tottenham are particularly impressed with Frank’s ability to develop players, which is why they are keen to bring him to N17.
Additionally, it has been suggested that Frank is keen on taking on the Spurs challenge after seven years at Brentford.
With the Tottenham hierarchy seemingly convinced that he is the right man for the job, one would expect Levy to activate his release clause.
