Red Sox’s Alex Bregman Has Date In Mind For Injury Return

The Boston Red Sox have an idea of when their hottest right-handed hitter will return to the lineup.

Will they share that timeline?

Nope.

Red Sox manager Alex Cora told reporters on Friday that the veteran third baseman has already started running and has a return date in mind, but wouldn’t divulge what it is, according to Ian Browne of MLB.com.

Boston has struggled mightily without one of its best hitters, putting together a 4-9 record since he went down on May 23 against the Baltimore Orioles. Bregman has dealt with a similar injury in the past, though that one kept him sidelined from June 17 to Aug. 25.

Bregman was slashing .299/.385/.553 with 11 home runs, 17 doubles, 35 RBIs, 32 runs, 22 walks and 42 strikeouts in 51 games, so the sooner he can get back, the better.
