Tottenham ‘very close’ to appointing Marco Silva as Ange Postecoglou’s replacement
The race for the Tottenham managerial hot seat has undergone a major twist, with Marco Silva emerging as the frontrunner to replace Ange Postecoglou, according to multiple outlets.
Since Postecoglou’s sacking was confirmed on Friday, it has been widely reported that Thomas Frank had emerged as Tottenham’s top choice.
Various sources reported that Spurs are ready to advance in talks with Frank over the coming days as the club aims to quickly fill the vacancy.
However, things now appear to be changing, with multiple outlets suggesting that Silva is now emerging as the leading contender for the N17 hot seat.

According to inews, Tottenham’s move for Frank is far from a done deal yet, with the Lilywhites also ‘seriously considering’ a move for the Fulham boss.
The report claims that Silva has long-term admirers at Spurs and has been sounded out by the club on more than one occasion over recent years.
In fact, it is alleged that he was one of the candidates on Tottenham’s radar to replace Antonio Conte in 2023 before they eventually turned to Postecoglou.
The Portuguese coach’s representatives have now been sounded out by Spurs again, with the 47-year-old emerging as a strong alternative for Frank.

A report in Record takes it a step further and claims that Marco Silva is ‘very close’ to taking the Tottenham job after being contacted by the North Londoners.
The outlet claims that an agreement between the Fulham boss and Spurs is now on the cusp of being finalised, with the former Everton boss set to make a move across London.
This is despite the fact Silva has already announced that he will be at Craven Cottage next season.
