Kevin Danso reveals what he realised about Tottenham and Arsenal during the trophy parade

0 11

Kevin Danso has admitted that his first six months at Tottenham Hotspur have been an eye-opening experience in realising the size of the club, with the centre-back confessing what was going through his mind during the club’s trophy parade.

Tottenham’s trophy parade, which occurred in North London two days after their historic Europa League triumph, was heavily attended, with fans flocking the streets in the thousands to catch a glimpse of their heroes proudly hoisting the trophy.

Ange Postecoglou has admitted that he was overwhelmed by the sea of Spurs fans during the parade, admitting that the sheer magnitude of the event showed how massive a club Tottenham are.

Kevin Danso had a similar realisation, with the centre-back confessing that there is a misconception about how big a club the Lilywhites are.

Kevin Danso claims Spurs are better supported than Arsenal

The Austrian international admitted that the enormity of what he and his teammates had achieved had only dawned on him when he saw the ecstatic faces of the fans during the trophy parade.

The 26-year-old insisted that despite the misconceptions abroad, Tottenham are much better supported in North London than their fierce local rivals.

When asked about the club’s Europa League trophy parade, Danso told Kleine Zeitung: “That’s when I really realised that I’m a European trophy winner. If you don’t live in London, you might not realise how big Tottenham is.

“Many people think North London is Arsenal. But in my opinion, there are many more Tottenham fans than Arsenal. It was an incredible feeling to see how much joy we brought to the fans. Winning something with a club like Tottenham makes the feeling even sweeter.”

Danso might have a regular starting role next season

The speculation linking Cristian Romero with a move to Atletico Madrid shows no signs of slowing down, and Tottenham may need to enter the market for a replacement for the Argentine this summer.

TBR Football claimed a couple of days ago that Spurs believe they have a readymade replacement for Romero if the World Cup winner departs.

The outlet claimed that the decision-makers at Tottenham are impressed with the way Danso has settled in at the club and feel that he is ready to be a regular starter next season.
