Tottenham Hotspur’s stance on Heung-min Son’s future revealed amid interest from Saudi Arabia

0 8

Tottenham are not looking to force Heung-min Son out of the door this summer, but they would be willing to sell their long-serving captain if the right bid arrives.

It was revealed yesterday that Tottenham Hotspur are set to part ways with Heung-min Son after the winger’s decade-long service.

The Korean forward has been attracting interest from Saudi Arabian clubs, and with a little over a year left on his current deal, Tottenham are looking to cash in on their captain.

Tottenham fans have been unanimous in their reaction to the latest news of Heung-min Son’s potential departure, with many admitting that now is the perfect time for both parties to part ways, as Son has cemented his legendary status in N17 following the club’s recent triumph in Europe.

Tottenham will only consider significant offers for Heung-min Son

Indeed, Heung-min Son has been a loyal servant of Tottenham as the winger remained at the club, despite its 17-year wait for a major honour, even when several former Tottenham players left and went elsewhere to win silverware.

However, after contributing just 11 goals and 12 assists last season in 46 appearances in all competitions, the Korean’s time at N17 seems to be reaching its end.

However, it is now being reported by The Independent that while Tottenham are open to letting their captain go this summer, Spurs are only going to listen to significant offers for Heung-min Son amid renewed interest from Saudi Pro League clubs.

Spurs face major call on Heung-min Son amid contract dilemma

The Tottenham captain is set to turn 33 next month and with him returning just 11 goals last season, the lowest since his first season at Tottenham, there is a feeling that he could be past his best.

Spurs only just offered the winger a one-year contract extension back in January and should the club fail to cash in on the wide forward, there is a chance that he might leave the club on a free when his contract expires next summer.

Tottenham have major decisions to make this transfer window and should Son depart the club, then a replacement for the Korean would need to become a priority.
