Mauricio Pochettino sends message to Tottenham fans after Europa League win
Mauricio Pochettino has sent a touching message to Tottenham Hotspur fans after the club’s Europa League final win against Manchester United in Spain.
After years of heartbreak and several near misses, Tottenham Hotspur have finally won a trophy and brought an end to a nearly two-decade wait for silverware.
It was only six years ago when Tottenham fell short in Spain against Liverpool at the Wanda Metropolitano Stadium, losing 2-0 in the UEFA Champions League final.
Six years on and Tottenham have delivered in Spain, beating Manchester United 1-0 in the UEFA Europa League final and securing a place in next season’s UEFA Champions League.

For all the heartbreak and pain Spurs fans have experienced in recent years, this trophy means a great deal to every single one of them, as they have watched their side become European champions for the first time since 1984.
Indeed, the Lilywhites would not be where they are now if not for some of their past managers and players – and now, one of them has sent a message that shows he is still Tottenham through and through.
Following Tottenham’s 1-0 triumph over the Red Devils, former Tottenham manager Mauricio Pochettino took to his Instagram story to send a congratulatory message to the Tottenham Hotspur family.
He wrote: “Congratulations to the Spurs family,” tagging the club’s official Instagram account, and then ended with, “COYS.”
Mauricio Pochettino’s legacy and potential Spurs return
Of course, Mauricio Pochettino has been a huge part of Tottenham’s modern history, with the Argentine manager leading the club to several second-place league finishes and consistent top-four finishes.
He was also the man in the Tottenham dugout the last time the club played in a European final, though it ended in heartbreak in Madrid.
Pochettino does still love the club, as Pochettino hinted earlier this season that at some point he would love to return to Spurs and complete his unfinished business at Hotspur Way. Whether that will happen in the near future remains to be seen.
