Manchester United suffered their 17th Premier League defeat of the season following a 2-0 loss to West Ham United at Old Trafford.

The Red Devils recently progressed to the Europa League final after beating Athletic Bilbao by a 7-1 aggregate scoreline.

Manager Ruben Amorim still picked a competitive starting XI against the Hammers, but the players failed to capitalise on chances.

Rasmus Hojlund was guilty of squandering multiple opportunities in the 2-0 defeat.

Mason Mount delivered a brilliant ball for the Dane in the opening half, but he completely miscontrolled his lofted effort on goal.

Hojlund failed to capitalise on another chance after a brilliant pass by Amad and also missed a goal from three yards out.

Aside from this, the £38 million-rated star won just 29 percent of his duels (4/14) and lost possession on 13 occasions.

Hojlund registered just nine passes and was unsuccessful with two dribbles.

He received a 4/10 rating from our side after another lacklustre showing. He was the worst performer on the day in our opinion.

The 22-year-old has had a good Europa League campaign for the Red Devils, registering six goals and three assists from 14 outings.

However, he has struggled to live up to the expectations in the Premier League with four goals and an assist from 30 appearances.

The same has been the case with Joshua Zirkzee (injured). He has failed to impose himself as a striker and has played in a deeper role.

In our view, the Red Devils must find an upgrade on Hojlund if they want to pose any sort of challenge for the league title in future.

A ‘first meeting‘ was held with Victor Osimhen’s representative recently, and the Nigerian star could be a perfect solution for United.

The Napoli star has netted 33 goals and provided eight assists from just 38 appearances on loan for Galatasaray this campaign.

He is more of a traditional striker and has excelled with his positioning and finishing skills, something that United currently lack.
