Yoro: This is a club of trophies

Manchester United booked their place in the Europa League final on Thursday night following a 7-1 aggregate victory over Club Athletic.

Leny Yoro has the opportunity to win European silverware in his first year at the club, having nailed down a starting position after an injury at the start of the season, which would be the first trophy of his career.

The teenager spoke to the press after the game about what it feels like to be a United player and have comparisons made with legendary defenders.

When you play for Manchester United you need to feel this [history]. This is a club of trophies. I think it will be important to think about this, we’re Manchester United and need to win trophies.

I came to Man United to achieve big things, to win trophies, so when you see players like Rio Ferdinand, Vidic and Varane, you want to achieve the same things as them, stay in the memory of fans and be a big defender. When they compare me to them it’s a real honour, I’m proud of this. I’m trying to be the best I can.
