Why Simone Inzaghi’s name is ‘getting hotter’ for Tottenham manager job

0 5

A fresh report has shed light on why Tottenham’s chances of appointing Simone Inzaghi as their head coach are increasing and has explained the one condition in which the Italian coach will consider walking away from Inter Milan this summer.

Over the last few months, the speculation regarding Ange Postecoglou’s potential replacement has gone into hyperdrive.

Regular readers of Spurs Web will be aware that Andoni Iraola, Marco Silva and Thomas Frank are the leading contenders for the Spurs job, but some other managers from across Europe are also thought to be on the Lilywhites’ wishlist.

It first emerged back in February that Fabio Paratici had urged Daniel Levy to appoint Simeone Inzaghi as the next Spurs head coach.

This was subsequently backed up by TuttoSport, who reported in March that Spurs and Man United had both expressed an interest in Inzaghi.

Simone Inzaghi could swap Inter Milan for Tottenham under one condition

In a fresh report, InterLive have now claimed that the Nerazzurri manager’s name is ‘getting hotter’ when it comes to the Spurs managerial role.

The outlet says that there is a possibility that Inzaghi could leave the San Siro this summer if Inter manage to win the Serie A as well as the Champions League this season.

It is revealed that the Premier League appeals to the 49-year-old, who believes that he can adapt his style to succeed in England.

The publication adds that Tottenham Hotspur would be able to offer a ‘top’ salary to Simone Inzaghi, which could play a role in convincing him to take up the project at N17.

Could Ange Postecoglou keep his Tottenham job?

While it is unclear who Tottenham’s top managerial targets are, it looked inevitable that there would be a change at the top of the North London club.

It has been widely reported over the last month that Postecoglou is likely to be sacked even if Spurs win the Europa League.

However, that was contradicted by a new report from Football Insider a couple of days ago, which claimed that Postecoglou could still save his Spurs job.

The outlet asserted that if the Lilywhites do lift the trophy in Bilbao on May 21, there is a chance that the Tottenham chiefs may be tempted to give the 59-year-old another season.
