Boost for Arsenal & Liverpool as Barcelona abandon move for highly sought-after 37-G/A star

0 5

Arsenal and Liverpool have been linked with a move for the LOSC Lille striker Jonathan David.

The Canadian International has been in exceptional form for the Ligue 1 side this season, and a report from Inter Live claims that the two Premier League clubs remain keen on him. They will face competition from multiple European clubs like Juventus and Fenerbahce as well.

Barcelona were keen on the player as well, but they have now abandoned their pursuit of the striker. The development will certainly become a major boost for Liverpool and Arsenal. It remains to be seen whether they can get the deal across the line.

David has 25 goals to his name this season, and he has picked up 12 assists along the way as well.

Arsenal need Jonathan David

He is certainly one of the most exciting attacking talents in European football, and he could transform Arsenal in the attack.

They need an upgrade on Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz. A reliable finisher could help them win major trophies. They have looked toothless in the attack at times, and someone like David could add a new dimension to their attack.

Similarly, Liverpool need to move on from players like Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota. Both players have been underwhelming, and the Reds need a clinical finisher. David could help them improve further, and he could form a partnership with the likes of Mohamed Salah and Luis Diaz.

The player has shown his quality with Lille, and he will want to compete at a higher level now. Liverpool could provide him with the opportunity to fight for major trophies. They have won the league title recently.

Arsenal are an ambitious club with an exciting project as well. They are currently in the semi-final of the UEFA Champions League. Both clubs will be attractive destinations for the striker, and it remains to be seen where he ends up.
