Tottenham fans all left surprised by what Yves Bissouma did vs Bodo/Glimt
Tottenham Hotspur fans have now handed out praise to Yves Bissouma after the club’s UEFA Europa League win over Bodo/Glimt.
Tottenham Hotspur’s Thursday clash against Bodo/Glimt was as big as it could get at this stage of the season, with the Lilywhites needing a victory if they were to give themselves a chance of making it past the semi-finals.
Spurs delivered. A 3-1 win was enough and now gives Ange Postecoglou’s men a cushion going into the second leg, a two-goal cushion that Brennan Johnson praised after Tottenham’s first leg win against Glimt.
The Lilywhites had to secure a victory without a couple of their first-team regulars, as Heung-min Son missed out against Bodo/Glimt because of a foot injury, while Lucas Bergvall missed out after he was spotted on crutches before the tie.

This meant that Ange Postecoglou had to make a few changes to his Europa League semi-final starting XI. Richarlison came in for Son, while Bissouma, who has struggled for consistency, came in for Lucas Bergvall in what was a shocking addition.
The Malian international did put in a solid display, one that Tottenham fans have been quick to praise.
Taking to social media, one Tottenham fan said: “Great game from Biss.” Another added: “Biss has class, he has performed badly so many times but do not let that take away his attributes which no other midfielder in our squad has. Play him next to Bentancur and if the team is not so gung ho, you will get the best out of him.”
Another fan commented: “He is an enigma. He was both class and a tiger. Exactly the correct blend of fight and calmness. Desperately needed next week too. Why can he not produce that more consistently? I was stunned he started and even more stunned he produced. Bentancur was outstanding. Unlucky for goal.”
One more added: “I said he had to play the game of his life tonight as I viewed him as the weak link. Well, he did. Big ups to you Biss.”
Despite his impressive display, one fan believes Yves Bissouma still needs to be sold: “He has his moments but he should be dominant against this level of opposition at home. Has ability but lacks the focus and professionalism to be a top-class midfielder. Cannot remember the last time he played well against a top Premier League team. Should still be sold in the summer.”
Spurs may still need Bissouma despite summer decision
Like a few fans have alluded to, Yves Bissouma does indeed have the quality to put in performances of this sort, but consistency is his problem.
He has struggled for most of the season, and this has led to talks about him being sold. It was reported a few months ago, after the winter window, that Tottenham have decided on Bissouma’s future following crunch talks, with the midfielder looking like he would be sold.
But before then, Tottenham would still need some big performances from the Malian, as a return date has not been fixed for Bergvall’s injury. There might be a chance that Spurs call on Yves Bissouma once more next week in Norway.
