Feizal Sidat named CAF Fifth Vice-President

The COSAFA family sends warmest congratulations to Federação Moçambicana de Futebol President Feizal Sidat, who has been appointed Fifth Vice-President of the Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) for the 2025-2029 cycle.

Mr Sidat was unveiled by CAF President Dr Patrice Motsepe following an Executive Committee (EXCO) meeting for the governing body in Accra, Ghana on Saturday.

“We send our congratulations to Mr Sidat, who has been a wonderful servant to not only Mozambique football, but also in our COSAFA region,” COSAFA President Said Ali Said Athouman said.

“We are delighted that his passion for the game and excellent administration skills will be utilised to develop African football further over the next four years. We will give Mr Sidat our full support and look forward to his continued valuable contributions to our COSAFA region.”

Mr Sidat is a veteran football administrator who in March this year was elected to the CAF EXCO and will also now serve as one of CAF’s five Vice-Presidents.

The former Futsal goalkeeper is a member of the COSAFA Executive Committee and heads the organisation’s Marketing, Television and Commercial Committee.

Mr Sidat has overseen the rapid development of football in Mozambique, not least in women’s football, beach soccer and youth football, where his leadership has seen the country excel.

The men’s senior national team has now qualified for the last two editions of the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations, and the women’s side finished third at the last COSAFA Women’s Championship in 2024, their best ever position.

“Feizal Sidat is not just doing excellent work in Mozambique, but he has contributed enormously to the growth of African football,” Dr Motsepe said.

Fouzi Lekjaa (Morocco), Kurt Simeon-Okraku (Ghana), Pierre-Alain Mounguengui (Gabon) and Bestine Kazadi (DR Congo) are the four others to take on the Vice-President role.
