Red Sox Vs. Guardians Lineups: Boston Makes Catcher Change For Game 1
Alex Cora had to wait a day, but he’ll get to celebrate a milestone when the Red Sox take on the Guardians in doubleheader action.
Cora is set to manage his 1,000th game as Boston manager in the first leg against Cleveland. Friday’s matchup was postponed due to rain, and the Red Sox will start their main sluggers against right-hander Ben Lively. Tanner Houck will remain the starter for the Red Sox.
The only change in the lineup for the first game of the doubleheader is Blake Sabol at catcher for Carlos Narváez. Sabol will bat eighth ahead of Ceddanne Rafaela, who got the day off Thursday. Kristian Campbell returns to second and will bat ahead of Triston Casas, who moves to seventh in the order.
Boston appointed Cooper Criswell as the club’s 27th man. The right-hander appeared in three games this season prior to Saturday.
First pitch for Game 1 of the doubleheader against the Guardians at Progressive Field is scheduled at 1:10 p.m. ET, and you can catch full coverage on NESN starting with pregame at noon.
