Vinícius Junior set to renew his contract with Real Madrid, moving on from Saudi Arabia

Vinicius Jr. is poised to sign a new contract with Real Madrid, ending speculation about a potential move to Saudi Arabia. The Brazilian winger is set to commit his future to the Spanish giants.

Vinicius Jr. is reportedly set to renew his contract with Real Madrid, according to Marca, amid uncertainty about his future following a multi-million dollar offer from Saudi Arabia.

The exact date when Real Madrid will announce the extension of the Brazilian’s contract, which runs until June 30, 2027, is not yet known. But it has been reported by Cadena Ser that the renewal would be for two or three more years. In fact, that seems to be the issue to be finalized: whether to renew until 2030 or until 2029 with an option to extend.

The reason for his renewal would be linked, first, to his desire to continue at Real Madrid. He had already warned in early March that he was “very calm” at the club and that he hoped to renew his contract “as soon as possible.”

And the second argument would point to the type of proposal that the Arabs had made to him (it was rumored that the destination club was Al Hilal), who would have offered him the extraordinary figure of one billion euros but for five years of contract. That would give the Brazilian a salary of 200 million per season, making him the highest paid soccer player. Although, of course, with the condition that Vini sign for all that time, a fact that did not convince the 24-year-old striker.

Logically, from Saudi Arabia they were not willing to make a large investment for a short contract, so that difference of ideas ended up canceling the proposal. Now, it only remains to wait for Real Madrid to announce the renewal of Vinicius, who has 311 games, 105 goals and 79 assists at the club.

Real Madrid focuses on Copa del Rey final

Seven days after the tough elimination against Arsenal in the Champions League, Real Madrid will play this Wednesday from 3:30 p.m. against Getafe for LaLiga, where they are escorting with 69 units, seven behind Barcelona, leader with 76, with five matches remaining before the tournament concludes. And next weekend, on top of that, they will have a challenge that could be decisive for Carlo Ancelotti’s future: the Copa del Rey final against the Culés, which will be on Saturday, April 26 at 4:00 p.m.

More complicated in LaLiga, that could be the second trophy that Real Madrid lifts in a season in which they only had the European Super Cup against Atalanta. The Spanish Super Cup was lost to Barcelona 5-2 and, afterwards, they only have the Club World Cup left.
