Those who have followed Spurs Web’s coverage will be well aware of the names being mooted by the press as potential Postecoglou replacements this summer.
Over the last couple of months, it has been widely claimed that Andoni Iraola is Tottenham’s top managerial target while other sources have said Spurs are also keeping an eye on both Marco Silva and Thomas Frank as backup options.
Earlier this month, it emerged that Tottenham are also considering a shock move for Oliver Glasner, whose stock has risen considerably since his move to Selhurst Park 14 months ago.
Now, a new update has made a huge claim about Spurs’ interest in the Austrian coach.
Oliver Glasner is now Tottenham’s top managerial target
GB News have now claimed that Glasner’s name has now moved to the top of Spurs’ wishlist ahead of the likes of Iraola, Frank and Silva.
The outlet reveals that the 50-year-old has been on Tottenham’s radar for a while, with the club considering him as an option before they appointed Postecoglou in 2023.
At the time, there were concerns at Hotspur Way about Glasner, given the difficult second half of the 2022-23 campaign he endured at Eintracht Frankfurt.
However, the Spurs hierarchy have changed their mind about the Eagles boss after seeing the kind of forward-thinking, attacking side he has built at Selhurst Park.
Glasner is also wanted by a Champions League club
According to various updates over recent weeks, Tottenham are not expected to have a free run at the Palace boss this summer.
It has been claimed that RB Leipzig are keen on beating Spurs to Glasner’s situation, with the Bundesliga club having identified the Austrian as the ideal option to replace Marco Rose.
However, the same update suggested that Tottenham may hold an advantage over Leipzig in the race as they can offer Glasner a higher pay package.
