Huge Leroy Sane transfer update amidst Tottenham’s interest
There has been a big development on the future of Leroy Sane amidst reports that Tottenham have held conversations with the Bayern Munich star’s representatives regarding a free summer transfer.
Sane’s current deal at Bayern runs out in June and unsurprisingly, a couple of Premier League clubs are allegedly trying to jump on the chance to sign the former Man City man.
It was reported back in February that Tottenham have made advances towards Sane to enquire about his availability but since then, the Lilywhites have been joined in the race for the winger by their North London rivals.
Last week, it was revealed by TBR Football that Spurs and Arsenal have both reached out to Sane’s camp while Bayern were trying to tie him down to a new contract.
Blow for Tottenham as Bayern Munich make contract offer to Leroy Sane
Spurs have now received a huge blow in the pursuit of the German international, who is now one step closer to remaining at Bavaria.
A report in Sky Sports Germany reveals that Bayern have now made a contract offer to the pacy winger’s representatives, with a decision now expected from the player.
The report says that the new deal offered by the Bundesliga giants runs until 2028, with a fixed salary of €10m (£8.6m), which can increase to €16m (£13.8m) including performance-related bonuses.
Sane is prepared to take a pay cut to stay with Bayern
The outlet explains that this offer represents a pay cut for Sane, whose current deal sees him earn €20m (£17.3m) per year.
The 29-year-old reportedly wants to stay put at the Allianz Arena and is ready to accept a pay cut in order to do so.
The publication adds that all parties are now working to reach an agreement, with the negotiations now in a ‘decisive phase’.
