Brentford away was an all time great, awesome performance from blues and we were on such a high for the anticipation of returning to wembley.
I got my final tickets from John Gayle, he was flogging them outside the club shop and he called me his bubbler. I had a t shirt on, with his face on it and he loved it. We sat next to the royal box, with the entire Sturridge clan to our right and it was bedlam ,in our row, when he poked home the first goal.
fair play to the 40,000 that came back out of the woodwork, some hadn't seen the light of day, for over a decade. There were loads of elder blues there who could remember our last trip to the twin towers. There were several flags up, along wembley way that paid homage to our past heroes. It was very emotional outside, in the build up to kick off.
We also played footy in the coach park with the tranmere fans, a fifty a side knock about of Birkenhead v birmingham's finest.
