Red Sox Vs. Orioles Lineups: Wilyer Abreu, Triston Casas Sit
The Red Sox’s season-opening road trip moves to Baltimore on Monday.
After dropping three of four to the Rangers in Texas, Boston will try to right the ship over a three-game set against the rival Orioles. The visitors will square off with left-hander Cade Povich in the opener, which marked the first start for a pair of reserves.
Rob Refsynder will take over in right field in place of the red-hot Wilyer Abreu, while Romy González will man first base in Triston Casas’ stead. The struggling Rafael Devers will remain in the Red Sox’s starting nine even with a southpaw on the hill for the O’s.
Povich will be opposed by Middleborough, Mass., native Sean Newcomb, who claimed the fifth spot in Boston’s season-opening rotation with a very strong spring training.
