Fabrizio Romano says Tottenham have chosen top summer target, but fans might not like it
Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Tottenham have narrowed down one young Premier League attacker as their top transfer target for the summer window, but they face competition for the player from two other Premier League giants.
If you have been following Spurs Web’s coverage, you would be aware that the speculation linking Tyler Dibling with a move to Spurs has intensified substantially over the last few weeks.
The winger has come on leaps and bounds since breaking into the Southampton side and with the Saints now looking certain to go down, he is expected to become one of the hottest properties of the window.
It has been widely reported that Tottenham have already started working on a deal to sign Dibling as the Lilywhites are keen to get ahead of the competition.
Fabrizio Romano provides an update on Tottenham’s Tyler Dibling pursuit
Tottenham are not expected to have a free run at the Saints academy graduate, with Man United also credited with a keen interest in Tyler Dibling.
Fabrizio Romano has now confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur are big fans of the 19-year-old and would be over the moon to bring him to N17 this summer.
However, the journalist threw the cat among the pigeons by revealing that Man City are also watching the England Under-21 international.
When asked where Dibling is likely to end up this summer, Romano told GiveMeSport: “At the moment, I can confirm that for Tottenham, he’s kind of their top target. They love the player, they would love to bring him in in the summer transfer window – but again, it’s not going to be super easy.
“Manchester City – let’s see because City at the moment are following the player, but from what I have heard, they haven’t started any concrete conversation.”
Southampton are driving a hard bargain for Tyler Dibling
This update from Romano comes just a couple of days after it was reported that Southampton had put a £100m price tag on Dibling.
It was explained that the Saints are determined to maintain their hardline stance ahead of the summer, which has left Tottenham and the winger’s other suitors extremely frustrated.
