Tottenham transfer could be on the cards for Serie A striker, but the race is open

Fabrizio Romano has revealed what he has heard about the future of Dusan Vlahovic as reports suggest that Tottenham are preparing a move for the Juventus striker this summer.

Vlahovic has flickered but never shined since his big-money switch from Fiorentina to Juventus back in 2022. The striker’s prospects of game time have taken a further hint since the arrival of Randal Kolo Munai from Paris Saint-Germain in January.

Tottenham Hotspur are expected to be in the market for another striker in the summer even if they activate the option to sign Mathys Tel, with reports over recent days claiming that Spurs have emerged as frontrunners to sign Vlahovic.

The same report explained that Thiago Motta’s men value the 25-year-old at around £50m ahead of the summer window.

Just a few days ago, Romano described Vlahovic as ‘one to watch’ ahead of Tottenham’s summer transfer window, as interest grows in his services.

The Italian journalist has now talked up the centre-forward’s chances of leaving the Allianz Stadium this summer, pointing out that the player enters the final year of his deal in Turn this June.

When asked if a move to Tottenham could be on the cards for Vlahovic, Romano told GiveMeSport: “Can be, as he’s out of contract in 2026 and several clubs are interested, in England but also in other countries. It’s an open story.”

Spurs’ Vlahovic pursuit could depend on Mathys Tel decision

Ange Postecoglou has indicated that Tottenham do plan on signing Mathys Tel permanently in the summer, but the Frenchman has struggled during his first few weeks at the North London club.

Spurs’ decision on whether or not to spend big money on another number nine could depend on whether they decide to activate the Tel option.

One suspects that Postecoglou will prefer signing another versatile forward who can operate across the front three rather than an out-and-out number nine like Vlahovic, who can only ever play in place of Dominic Solanke.
