Ahead of Wednesday’s game, Mark Lawrenson has given his prediction on how he expects the Tottenham vs Manchester City score to play out – and Spurs fans will love it.

Writing for Paddy Power, the former Liverpool defender did not hold back in his assessment of City’s recent performances, claiming they are starting to resemble Spurs in their unpredictability.
He said: “Manchester City have become Spursy – they’re posh Spursy! You just don’t know with City at the moment, and playing Liverpool and Real Madrid in the same week is no joke.
“That has to take something out of you, so I’m going to go for Tottenham to win this. They’ve got a lot of players back and are starting to look like a team again. I’m not sure we can say that about City right now.”

With the Manchester club’s confidence dented and fatigue potentially playing a role, Lawrenson’s prediction might not be as far-fetched as it seems.
Spurs have history on their side
A 2-1 win for Tottenham would not be a massive shock, especially when you look at their recent record against Manchester City. Spurs have already beaten them twice this season and will be confident of making it three.
Back in November, they ran riot in the league, hammering City 4-0. Then, in the Carabao Cup, they edged Guardiola’s men 2-1, knocking them out of the competition.
With several key players back from injury, the N17 club has every reason to believe they can pull off another win. A league double over City would be a huge statement and could provide the perfect springboard for a strong finish to the season.
