Man Utd coaches reportedly 'losing patience' with key Man Utd star after just 1.5 years - report
Manchester United have lacked a cutting edge in front of goal this season.
Even after investing heavily in two strikers over the last two summers, Man United have struggled to impress in the final third.
According to the Manchester Evening News, ‘United coaches are losing patience with striker Rasmus Hojlund amid his prolonged goal drought’.
Hojlund last scored for the Red Devils on December 12. His last Premier League goal came in the 3-2 defeat to Nottingham Forest five days earlier.
The 21-year-old has regressed massively this season, netting just seven times in 33 games.
Only two of the seven goals have come in the English top flight. United signed Hojlund from Atalanta in a deal worth £72 million in 2023.
The Denmark international was considered a smart signing, and his first season raised expectations.
He bagged 16 goals in the 2023-24 season after a tough first few months.
Hojlund has not shown signs of improvement. His hold-up play is appalling, which has left his teammates frustrated.
Even though he looks strong physically, he has been bullied by defenders.
Hojlund has won 22 percent of his aerial duels this season and has played an average of just 7.7 accurate passes per game.
It has been 16 games since he last scored, forcing United to consider signing another marquee centre-forward this summer.
There is no doubt that Hojlund has immense potential, but he must reflect on his performances and work on several aspects of his game.
Patience is running out among United supporters who have backed him to thrive.
