Will Harry Kane return to Tottenham? Paul Robinson has his say
Paul Robinson has made a confident claim about what Harry Kane will be thinking if he ever decides to make a return to the Premier League, and Tottenham fans will love what their former number one has said.
Harry Kane could return to PL for a cut-price fee
Since the news first broke last week about the clause in Kane‘s contract that allows for a cut-price exit from Bayern, there has understandably been a lot of interest in the news.
The update, which came from Bild, claimed that an offer of £54m would be enough to sign Harry Kane in the summer if he decided that he wanted to leave Bavaria.
Of course, that would depend on the striker agreeing to a transfer and there is no indication that the 31-year-old wants to leave Bayern Munich as he looks set to fire them to the Bundesliga title this season.
Paul Robinson on potential Tottenham return for Harry Kane
Kane might be tantalised into a Premier League return in the future as he is just 47 goals short of breaking Alan Shearer’s record tally of 260 goals in the competition.
Robinson believes that if the Bayern striker does return to England, he would not consider joining anyone else apart from Spurs.
The former Tottenham goalkeeper told BetFRED about Kane: “I can’t see him coming back to the Premier League to anybody else but Tottenham, but if you look at it now, then why would he?
“You look at the goals he’s scoring at Bayern Munich and what they’re going to go on and win there and Harry will be getting the trophies he went over there for.
“At the moment, coming back to Tottenham wouldn’t be an attractive proposition would it? Of course, Premier League clubs will be looking at him, but £54 million for someone that will be 32 by then is a lot.”
Spurs fans will continue to dream of fairytale Kane return
When Kane does eventually decide to leave Bayern, his motivation might not be purely to win silverware as he would have likely done plenty of that already in Bavaria.
However, it will be difficult for Tottenham to attract their record goalscorer if they are languishing around midtable like they currently are.
Signing the striker will also be a departure from the club’s current transfer strategy of investing in young players for the long term, but one would hope that an exception will be made for Kane, given the interest and emotion the move would generate.
