Tottenham Hotspur’s youth-driven approach

Tottenham Hotspur over the last two years, have been freshening up their squad with a lot of youthful talent.

The just signed 19-year-old Mathys Tel, 21-year-old Kinsky, Mikey Moore, Lucas Bergvall, Wilson Odobert, Pape Sarr and Udogie, are just a few of the young talent at manager Ange Postecoglou’s disposal.

The Australian manager has already made Mikey Moore, 17, the club’s youngest-ever debutant. Meanwhile, he continues to develop teenagers Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall, by handing them regular minutes in the first team.

Tottenham eye moves for Tyler Dibling and Adam Wharton

Latest reports suggest that the Tottenham boss is still very keen on bringing more youngsters to Hotspur Way and his eyes seem to be fixed on Southampton’s Tyler Dibling and Crystal Palace’s Adam Wharton.

This latest update comes from Football transfers, who are reporting that Tottenham Hotspur are making an aggressive push to bring 18-year-old Dibiling and 21-year-old Wharton to N17.

The publication states that internal discussions have already taken place and that the Lilywhites are expected to push to secure the services of both players, as they look to make them part of their long-term plans.

Tyler Dibling who is currently at Southampton, is one of the most sought-after youngsters in football at the moment as both clubs in the Premier League and Europe are looking to secure his signature.

Can Spurs make a move for the English Duo?

While the club’s transfer policy is currently focusing on bringing exciting young talents to north London, it seems rather unrealistic for the club to spend well over £100m on these two players.

During the winter window, Southampton was said to be demanding a fee well over the region of £50m for Dibling, and you will also expect that pricing Wharton away from Palace, will not be easy as he is English and his value is expected to be high.

Let’s also not forget that Spurs have a £25m buy clause for Johnny Cardoso of Real Betis. If the club are looking to strengthen their midfield, that seems like the shrewd way to spend.

Dibling will be a great addition and should Southampton get relegated, then he should be much cheaper in the summer.
