Abdul Carter Or Travis Hunter? Patriots Could Face Difficult Choice

The New England Patriots have plenty of time to figure out how they want to approach the 2025 NFL Draft, but they’ll eventually be faced with a difficult decision.

Penn State’s Abdul Carter and Colorado’s Travis Hunter are the two most popular prospects tied to the team, with many planting their flag in one camp or another.

NESN’s Travis Thomas and Keagan Stiefel each made their choice on Friday’s episode of “Foxboro Rush” mostly focusing on whether offense or defense is the way to go.

“I’m going to skirt the question,” Stiefel said. “I don’t care about offense or defense, you just take the best player available.

“Abdul Carter is No. 1 in my eyes. Carter fits the system, he fits where the NFL is going — in terms of a dominant defensive lineman who can play multiple spots and affect an opposing offense — and he fits the culture… Do I think Travis Hunter is going to be a fantastic pro? Yes, I do, but we haven’t seen a guy dominate on both sides of the ball yet (in the NFL).”

Hunter is certainly a tantalizing prospect, but there are questions about how much he can contribute offensively. Carter, on the other hand, could be the best defensive player to be drafted since Dallas Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons.

Who would you choose?
