George Abbott is shining away from Tottenham

George Abbott has emerged as a key figure for Notts County in recent weeks, with the teenage midfielder demonstrating his knack for scoring goals.

Facing Peterborough United in an intense away tie, the youngster netted his first goal of the season, it was the final goal of a 4-3 FA Cup classic that Notts County eventually lost.

His first league goal for the club came during the Boxing Day fixture against MK Dons. Prior to his Boxing Day heroics, Abbott had already displayed his scoring ability in the FA Cup.

A few days after his first League goal, Abbott produced another moment of brilliance. Representing Stuart Maynard’s side, he scored a goal reminiscent of Steven Gerrard in his prime.

Abbott scores third goal of the season

Ten days on, the 19-year-old’s goalscoring streak continues, and once more, it was a screamer. It was the first of three scored by Notts County in their win against Accrington Stanley.

The breakthrough goal came through a thundering volley from Abbott. Making a late run from deep midfield, the teenager timed his arrival in the penalty area to perfection, connecting sweetly with a cross from Mattew Palmer.

The ball soared into the top left corner, leaving the opposing goalkeeper with no chance and sparking jubilant celebrations among the Notts County faithful.
