Tottenham Update vs Everton: Injured Spurs player out for 3-4 weeks – Postecoglou confirms
Ange Postecoglou has provided a Tottenham Hotspur injury update ahead of the Premier League match against Everton.
The North Londoners make the trip to Merseyside on Sunday looking to desperately turn around their top flight fortunes.
Everton are looking for their first home league win under David Moyes, who replaced the outgoing Sean Dyche earlier this week.
Yet more misery was piled on the club after Tottenham’s 2-1 defeat to Arsenal in the North London derby on Wednesday night which has now seen Ange Postecoglou’s side only manage to pick up five points out of a maximum 27 available.
Injuries to key players have marred Tottenham‘s season with a lack of depth of quality within the ranks along with senior players struggling to consistently perform week in, week out to deliver results.
The Australian was once again without Guglielmo Vicario, Ben Davies, Micky van de Ven, Cristian Romero, Destiny Udogie, Rodrigo Bentancur and Wilson Odobert for the loss at the Emirates.
Timo Werner’s hamstring injury saw the RB Leipzig loanee become Tottenham’s latest casualty having picked up the problem in the 3-0 win against Tamworth in the FA Cup.
Tottenham injury update ahead of Everton
Tottenham have picked up two fresh injury concerns ahead of the trip to Goodison Park with Brennan Johnson and Yves Bissouma both doubtful, while Ben Davies is expected to be back within the squad.
The manager also confirmed that Werner is set to miss up to the next month.
Postecoglou told Football.London: “Couple still sore from midweek. Looking to see how Brennan is, he’s had a calf complaint, and Biss is a bit sore. Ben Davies should be involved. “Timo has got a hamstring tweak, probably three to four weeks.”
Everton vs Tottenham kicks off at 2pm UK time on Sunday 19th January 2025, with the game being televised live on Sky Sports Main Event.
