Real Madrid are ‘determined’ to sign valuable Tottenham teenager
Real Madrid have reportedly set their sights on a player Tottenham Hotspur signed last summer and are now ready to submit a sizable offer for the youngster this window.
Archie Gray has shown maturity beyond his years at Tottenham
When Archie Gray made the move from Leeds United to Spurs in the summer, not many would have expected the youngster to get the amount of game time he has.
Tottenham’s injury situation has meant that the teenager has got plenty of opportunities to play at centre-back.
Even though the 18-year-old had no experience in the centre of defence before this season, he has come on leaps and bounds in the role over recent months, exuding the calmness that one would expect of an experienced veteran.
Real Madrid determined to sign Archie Gray
Fichajes state that the Tottenham man’s impressive displays have piqued the attention of a number of clubs, with Real Madrid being one of those.
Los Blancos are thought to be keeping an eye on the best young talent around Europe, with Gray‘s versatility and his calmness said to have attracted the La Liga side’s interest.
The outlet claims that 15-time European champions are ‘determined’ to sign the Spurs man and are ready to put €50m (£43m) on the table for him.
Tottenham will laugh off any offer for Gray
While Real Madrid’s interest would turn the head of any player, Gray will realise that the important thing for him at this stage of his career is regular game time.
The teenager is unlikely to ask for a move away from Hotspur Way anytime soon while Daniel Levy will also not entertain offers for the youngster.
Besides, the idea that Real Madrid can sign Gray for £43m, which is just £3m more than what Spurs spent on him last summer, is wishful thinking on the part of Carlo Ancelotti’s men.
