Juventus sporting director Cristiano Giuntoli has made an interesting comment on the club’s pursuit of Randal Kolo Muani, and his words do not bode well for Tottenham’s chances of signing the striker.
Two-horse race for Randal Kolo Muani’s signature
It appears that Spurs and Juventus have emerged as the two clear front-runners to land Kolo Muani from Paris Saint-Germain, with both clubs continuing to hold talks with the Ligue 1 giants.
Tottenham are reportedly refusing to give up on signing Muani and it has been suggested that both the Lilywhites and the Bianconeri have received the green light from the player’s camp.
Some sources have suggested that the only disagreement between Spurs and PSG is that the French club want an obligation to buy attached to the loan deal, while the Premier League side want it to be a conditional obligation, depending on the striker’s performances.
Juventus director discusses Randal Kolo Muani pursuit
For the first time, Juve have now broken the silence regarding their rumoured transfer battle with Spurs for the former Eintracht Frankfurt man.
The Old Lady’s sporting director, Cristiano Giuntoli, has suggested that the club might have some ‘good news’ regarding the PSG star over the coming week.
Giuntoli said (via Fabrizio Romano): “Ronald Araujo and Randal Kolo Muani are two very good players. We hope to have good news next week in terms of new signings.”
Juventus appear quite confident of landing Kolo Muani
Based on Giuntoli’s statement, it seems that the Turin club are optimistic that Kolo Muani will be wearing the white and black jersey before the end of the month.
One can understand why the 26-year-old would prefer a move to the Italian club as they can offer him Champions League football.
However, Tottenham are in a stronger financial position, and they will be hoping they can clinch the deal by offering PSG more favourable terms.
