David Gray Named Scottish Premiership Manager Of The Month

Hibernian Head Coach David Gray has been named the Scottish Premiership Glen’s Manager of the Month for December 2024!

Gray is the first Hibs Manager to win the award since Paul Heckingbottom in March 2019.

The Hibees turned their form around in the month of December, picking up 12 points out of a possible 15 – including four straight wins to end the year. 

That run of form kick-started in the middle of the month after we came from behind to beat Ross County 3-1 at Easter Road.

It was a similar story a week later at Pittodrie, coming from behind again to beat Aberdeen by the same 3-1 score line.

Undoubtedly the result of the month came on Boxing Day at Tynecastle. Dwight Gayle netted the winner to seal a 2-1 victory – five years to the day since our last win in Gorgie.

We closed out the year with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Kilmarnock, lifting us up to seventh in the table.

Speaking to hibernianfc.co.uk after collecting his award, David Gray commented: “Firstly I would just like to thank the rest of the coaching staff, the backroom staff and of course, the players as this has been a real collective effort.

“The festive fixture schedule is always a challenging period, so to come through that with four wins on the bounce was massive for us and brilliant for our supporters.

“Full credit goes to the players, staff and everyone behind the scenes at the Football Club for all their hard work and continued belief in what we are trying to do.

"We are growing in confidence and we need to make sure we take that momentum into 2025 and finish the season as strongly as possible."
