New contract for Boubacar Kamara a priority for Aston Villa
It has been quite a busy day on the transfer rumour front for Aston Villa but the most important news to surface is Villa have prioritised a new contract for midfielder Boubacar Kamara.
John Percy broke the news today in the Telegraph where he stated that Villa are looking a multiple additions during the January window but the contract situation of Kamara is the priority.
The French International has recently returned from a long-term injury and his form has highlighted just how important he is to Unai Emery and Aston Villa. The midfielder has just two years left on his current deal and the Villa hierarchy wants to reward him and get him tied down to a longer deal.
Kamara signed for Villa in July 2022 on a free transfer for Marseille and he’s proved his worth plenty of times in a Villa shirt.
The 25-year-old missed 35 games last season through injury and missed 17 the season before but this hasn’t put off Villa in their bid to keep their star man.
Players in Kamara’s position come at a premium value in the modern game due to how important they are in the systems played today. The last thing Villa would want is to lose their star man for free and if a deal cannot be agreed, they may be forced to cash in while they can.
