Remembering Aidan Sutherland

Raith Rovers supporters and the wider football community are being invited to support a special fundraiser in memory of Aidan Sutherland, a Rovers fan who also became a part of Linlithgow Rose’s local football family.

On Thursday, 30th November, a group of his friends and family will run the route from Stark’s Park to Prestonfield, covering around 28 miles to raise funds for the Aidan Sutherland Foundation.

This run has ended up coinciding perfectly with our Scottish Cup clash against Linlithgow, creating an unforgettable opportunity to honour Aidan while celebrating his love for football and both clubs.

Aidan tragically passed away in July 2017, at just 20 years old, due to complications from type 1 diabetes.

Since then, his family and friends have worked tirelessly to support research into type 1 diabetes and make a positive impact in the community through the Aidan Sutherland Foundation.

Previous efforts have included football matches between his former clubs and London Marathon runs by his family, resulting in the first “Run for Aidan” in 2019.

This year’s run is as meaningful as ever.

The funds raised will go directly to the Aidan Sutherland Foundation, supporting vital diabetes research and helps those living with the daily challenges of the condition.
