Spurs eye move for Premier League playmaker but club are reluctant to sell
Tottenham Hotspur have their eyes firmly set on one attacking midfielder who has been outstanding in the Premier League so far this season, but it will not be easy for the North London club to land Facundo Buonanotte.
Buonanotte is impressing out on loan
Brighton loaned out Facundo Buonanotte to Leicester City back in the summer to allow the teenager to get regular first-team football, and thas certainly caught the eye for the Foxes so far this season.
The 19-year-old is the club’s second-leading scorer this season behind Jamie Vardy, with five goal contributions after 10 league games (Transfermarkt).
His displays at the King Power Stadium are now allegedly attracting envious glances from several big clubs, with Tottenham one of the teams thought to be eyeing a move for the player.
Is Facundo Buonanotte the answer to Spurs’ creative issues?
TBR Football claim that the Argentine’s displays for Steve Copper’s men have not gone unnoticed in N17, with Ange Postecoglou‘s men wanting to add more creativity to their side.
The report states that Spurs want a player who can receive the ball between the lines and pick out forward passes. With James Maddison going off the boil, the club are reportedly considering turning to Buonanotte.
However, the outlet explains that Tottenham could face competition from the likes of RB Leipzig, Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan, who are all fans of the teenager.
Brighton’s transfer stance on Buonanotte
TBR Football reveal that even though the attacking midfielder is generating plenty of interest, Brighton have insisted that they have no plans of selling him for the moment.
In fact, the South Coast club are thought to have earmarked a role for Buonanotte in Fabian Hurzeler’s set-up when he returns to the Amex Stadium next summer.
The publication adds that even though the Seagulls signed the midfielder for just £6m back in 2022 from Rosario Central, it would take ‘a colossal fee’ to prise him away from the club.
