Match Preview: Partick Thistle v Queen’s Park – Sun 20 Oct 24

0 3

Queen's Park make the short trip to Petershill Park to face Partick Thistle in the ScottishPower WPL 1 on Sunday.

Craig Joyce’s side find themselves in a familiar situation to last week whereby a win could send them out of the relegation zone if all other results go their way. Meanwhile, The Jags currently sit in 7th place, five points above Queen’s Park, and will be looking to make a push into the top half of the league – a place they have called home for the last two seasons.

Looking ahead to the last fixture before the international break, Craig Joyce said: “We know the challenge ahead of us on Sunday. Partick Thistle have been performing very well over the last few years. They are a very difficult team to play against – we know that as we have played them a number of times over the last few seasons in various competitions. Most recently, we more than matched them in the Scottish Cup, and on another day we may have been victorious, so that has to give us confidence that we can take something from the game.”

Last week, despite the result, we made positives steps on the pitch. In particular, the number of chances we were able to carve out was promising. That also has to give us confidence and we need to use it as a platform to build upon moving forward.”
