Bruins Wrap: David Pastrnak (Obviously) Clinches First OT Win
BOSTON — The Bruins overcame a sluggish start to capture a 2-1 overtime win over the Los Angeles Kings on Saturday, keeping their (extremely short) home undefeated streak alive at TD Garden.
Boston moved to 2-1-0 with the victory, while LA fell to 1-0-1.

It’s hard to win a hockey game when you can’t keep the puck on your stick.
The Bruins found a way to do it, anyway.
Boston had an extremely inconsistent day when it came to execution, producing some truly terrible hockey at several different points. Pavel Zacha took a power-play opportunity off the board by committing an unneeded penalty just seconds into it. Hampus Lindholm impeded Jeremy Swayman’s path to the puck early in the second period, which led to an avoidable goal. Mason Lohrei had multiple turnovers in his own zone, which isn’t the first time we’ve seen that.
Bruins general manager Don Sweeney didn’t build this team to be an offensive dynamo, and they certainly didn’t look like one Saturday, but when they needed it most, the big guns delivered.
STARS OF THE GAME
— David Pastrnak scored the game-winning goal in overtime, finishing off a beautiful sequence by a pair of young teammates.
— Matthew Poitras was superb in his return to action, really opening things up for an offensive attack that seemed to be stuck in the mud at different points. Poitras finished with a secondary assist on the Pastrnak goal.
— Elias Lindholm scored the regulation goal, giving him five points in three games with the Black and Gold.
