Mixing up sports again but you’ll get the idea
It’s okay to admit it: at halftime of Duke’s win over UNC on Saturday, you gave up, right? Duke was down 17-0 and you figured it was over.
Right?
Only it wasn’t.
Duke uncorked one of the great comebacks in program history and did it against its biggest rival. You just don’t get that kind of satisfaction very often.
We’ve talked a lot about how Duke Basketball sets the standard for social media teams in college sports and that’s absolutely true. David Bradley has done an incredible job as has the rest of his team.
But with this video, Duke Football has staked a claim too.
It’s about the game Saturday, and if you’re a Duke fan, you’re going want to go ring the Victory Bell yourself. It’s beautifully shot, it’s emotional and it’s powerful.
It also may mark a turning point for Diaz.
Starting 4-0 was great but it wasn’t exactly Murderer’s Row. Beating UNC counts for a lot. That and the 5-0 start probably means three things:
- If Diaz had not bonded with his team, he has now.
- His boss, A.D. Nina King, is surely happy. And by the way, she’s made three key hires so far and all of them have been brilliant, even if Midnight Mike Elko left after two seasons.
- The fans are thrilled.
