Patriots Rule Out Key Offensive Lineman For Week 1 Matchup

The Patriots will be without a key offensive lineman in their season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals.

New England on Friday ruled Sidy Sow out for Week 1 due to an ankle injury. The second-year guard did not participate in practice this week, but he and head coach Jerod Mayo noted the injury was not serious.

The Patriots also listed running back Antonio Gibson (hip), left tackle Vederian Lowe (abdomen) and linebacker Joshua Uche (foot) as questionable.

Gibson was limited in practice Thursday and Friday, and Mayo told reporters Friday the team would "see how it goes." Lowe also was limited in practice this week, and Mayo hinted at a possible rotation with the offensive line, which could be the case even if the left tackle was active. Uche was a full participant in practice after he started the week with limited participation.

The Bengals listed wide receiver Ja'Marr Chase (rest) as questionable and Tee Higgins (hamstring) as doubtful for Week 1. It's possible Cincinnati could join New England by being down one of their key players.
