Bergvall was faced with a major challenge upon arriving at Hotspur Way this summer as not only did he have to step up his game to compete in a top Premier League side but he also had to adapt to a new culture.

Moving to a new country at 18 years of age can be quite overwhelming, but thankfully for the youngster, he does have his compatriot, Kulusevski, to help him navigate through these challenges.

Kulusevski has spoken very highly of his club and international teammate, backing the midfielder to evolve into a top player if he can keep working hard (Football.London).

Kulusevski has taken Bergvall under his wing

When asked about how the winger has helped him since his move, Bergvall has now told Goteborgs-Posten (as relayed by Sport Witness): “He has helped me a lot on and off the pitch. A good person and an incredibly good footballer.”

When asked what the best piece of advice that the former Juventus star has given him, the midfielder responded: “Haha, I don’t know, more generally an extra support if you have a tougher training. It could be a gym session or exercise. He helps, it can be anything.”

Bergvall also conveyed a similar sentiment in his interview with Fotbollskanalen, revealing that the 24-year-old has helped him integrate quickly into the squad.

He said about Kulusevski: “I have received an incredible amount of help. He’s a fantastic person and player, who has helped me get into the group and everything around it.”

There were some fears in Sweden that the 18-year-old’s move to Tottenham was too big a step for him but the youngster has passed the test with flying colours so far.

When asked about potentially being worried about such a big move, the teenager said: “You don’t know that beforehand. There was a lot of speculation, and it didn’t turn out that way. I feel like I’ve settled in well in the group and have gained the confidence of the coach.”

There is no doubt that having Kulusevski at Tottenham has made the transition a lot easier for Bergvall.

The winger deserves credit for taking the midfielder under his wing, especially considering that the pair might be competing with each other for a place in the starting eleven.
