Match Preview: Queen’s Park v Montrose 1 Sept 24

0 4

Queen's Park's busy schedule of three games in eight days concludes with today's ScottishPower WPL1 game against Montrose at Ochilview. Kick off 4:00pm.

Since their opening two matches ended in defeat to Hearts and Rangers; The Spiders have won two games on the bounce taking victories at home to The Spartans and away to Dundee United.

Queen’s Park currently sit 7th in the ScottishPower WPL 1 with six points from a possible twelve.

Montrose have yet to pick up any points with four losses in a row; joining The Spartans and Dundee United at the bottom of the table.

Craig Joyce is in good spirits ahead of the game: “It’s been a good week for us so far. We’ve come through 2 difficult games with maximum points and I’m very proud of the group for that. Wednesday night in particular, it was far from ideal circumstances for the game, but to get the win, especially after being behind twice.

That gives us confidence to go into the Montrose game. I remember our tough our games against them were in SWPL2, and tomorrow will be no different. They had a strong season last season, and I’m sure they’ll go on and kick on, but it’s important that we don’t let the game against us the moment that happens.”
