Tottenham learn of their Carabao Cup third round opponents

This draw this year is slightly different due to the expansion of both the Champions League and the Europa League, two additional European matchweeks have been added to the calendar, which coincide with the Carabao Cup third round dates, which be staggered the weeks commencing 16th and 23rd September.

Conditions have been made for this draw due to the scheduling of European fixtures in September to ensure Champions League clubs cannot face a Europa League-competing side in the third round.

A pre-draw took place ahead of the Nottingham Forest-Newcastle game to determine the home/away position of sides in bowl one.

This will only be the case for the third round as the rest of the competition will follow the traditional free-draw format.
