Update From Board of Directors

0 4

We understand the frustration from some supporters about the time it has taken to appoint a new manager. In the spirit of transparency, we want to update all supporters on the current situation.

There has always been a shortlist of potential managers we believe could lead Raith Rovers. However, until a decision was made regarding the previous manager, we did not feel it was appropriate to communicate with those on the shortlist.

After the decision was made and communicated to Ian on Sunday, August 4th, we began the process of speaking with the individuals on the shortlist.

Simultaneously, we received a significant number of applications from other potential managers, some of which caught our interest.

When we reach out to a club or engage with a manager not currently associated with a club, it is likely to become public knowledge. However, this does not necessarily mean an official offer has been made.

Over the past three weeks, we have spoken with more than 10 potential candidates and made only two formal offers. One of these offers was to David Healy, who accepted last Friday. Unfortunately, David’s position changed over the weekend, and we were informed of his decision on Monday morning.

This does not mean the process of researching and conducting due diligence on other prospective candidates has stopped. We are continuing to engage with these individuals and, where applicable, their clubs to ensure we find the right person to lead Raith Rovers forward in the long term.

We understand the frustration of supporters regarding the lack of a replacement for Ian at this time. However, the club has undergone significant transformation over the last 15 months, and we are more committed than anyone to preserving that progress, ensuring we do not rush into a decision.

We have infrastructure in place to ensure that training, coaching, recruitment, and matchday management continue smoothly, even if a manager leaves the club.

We ask our supporters to please be patient and trust that we, the Board of Directors, are doing everything we can to maintain and build upon the growth the football club has experienced over the past year.
