Match Preview: Dundee United v Queen’s Park 28 Aug 24

The team will travel to Foundation Park in good spirits and with confidence high after picking up their first win of the season on Sunday against The Spartans, with Ami Robertson’s brilliant strike from 30-yards was the difference as The Spiders ran out 1-0 winners. Queen’s Park will be looking to capitalise on their hosts leaky defence and build on their initial three points before hosting Montrose on Sunday.

Dundee United come into the game still awaiting their first points of as their first three matches against Celtic, Hibernian and Heart of Midlothian have all ended in defeat. Suzy Shepherd’s side have conceded 23 goals from their opening games and have yet to find the back of the net themselves.

On the midweek match Craig Joyce commented: “We are looking forward to another game so quickly. The boost in confidence that Sunday gave us will stick around for a while, but the game is done and it’s important we put in another positive performance to keep the buzz around the place.

We know we are up against a side who will be hungry to kick start their season after some tough opening games, and travelling to Dundee mid-week makes it a little more tricky. It’s also a three game week for us so it’s important we approach the game with the necessary considerations, but the girls are capable of putting in a performance that sees us build on what we have learned so far this season.”
