Bissouma responds to his suspension in style

Bissouma would have been keen to win back the trust of Ange Posteocglou, his Tottenham teammates and the supporters after being suspended for the match against Leicester City.

Inexplicably, the midfielder posted a video on social media of himself inhaling laughing gas before the start of the season – later admitting that his actions showed a severe lack of judgement (Guardian).

The 27-year-old looked like a man on a mission on his comeback against the Toffees, being first to most loose balls in the middle of the park and producing some eye-catching passes throughout the game.

Bissouma also opened the scoring for the home side with a sweetly struck effort from the edge of the box which cannoned into the back of the net off the crossbar.

Maddison is impressed by Yves Bissouma

The former Brighton man could not have asked for a better occasion to score his first Tottenham goal, and Maddison admitted that his Spurs teammate’s ability has never been in doubt.

The attacking midfielder told Sky Sports following the 4-0 win: “We all know Yves’ ability. He is a ridiculous player at times. He has got a skill not many have.

“The gaffer is a great man with good morals. He has to keep working hard.”

Spurs Web Opinion

As Maddison points out, raw ability has never been the issue with Bissouma.

If the 27-year-old can knuckle down and find some consistency this season, Tottenham will be a hard side to stop.
