Paul Scholes make big claim about Ange Postecoglou’s future career

Ange Postecoglou may be happy at Tottenham Hotspur right now, but if he ever does move on Paul Scholes has identified the kind of club he might manage next.

Big clubs will come knocking for Big Ange

Everywhere he has gone, Postecoglou has won trophies and garnered praise for his management style, footballing principles, and his general attitude.

It’s been much the same in his first year at Spurs, and a fifth-placed finish in the Premier League last seaosn has done his reputation no harm at all.

But, he is aiming bigger this season (and beyond), and there has already been chatter about Postecoglou being eyed for other roles across the football world.

So, will he move on? Paul Scholes thinks he could, and he told The Overlap that the Australian could end up at Real Madrid one day.

He said: “I think the only way he will leave is to go to a bigger club. I think there will be teams after him. I think he is that good [that he could go to Real Madrid]. It’s alright coming across good but his teams play good football and win things. He could get close to that top four.

“That could be a big boost for him as a manager. I think he will manage big clubs. I don’t think it will be a problem to him.”

Over the last few months we have seen Postecoglou linked to the Liverpool job before Arne Slot was hired (Sky Sports).

The Spurs boss was also mentioned on the shortlist of names to replace Gareth Southgate for England, but insisted he was entirely focused on the job at hand with the Lilywhites (The Guardian).

Obviously, things change and good things can’t really last forever, but I really hope this works out for Postecoglou and Spurs, and that he sticks around for the long haul. He’s doing everything right in my books so far, and if he can go on to deliver a trophy or two, I would never want him to leave.
